The magazine Global Finance, an Italy-based, English-language finance monthly distributed in 158 countries, has named Garanti Bank as the best trade finance bank in Turkey.
Garanti Bank was awarded the title due to input from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts, the bank said in a press release on Sunday.
The magazine has named the "Best Trade Finance Banks" by region and country in an exclusive survey to be published in the February issue. Global Finance editors selected the best trade finance banks in 71 countries or regions.
Criteria for choosing the winners included: transaction volume, scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies.
The Best Trade Finance Bank globally will be announced in the October issue.
"This award once more indicates international authorities' appreciation of our expertise in foreign markets and our customer relations," Garanti Bankasi's deputy director general Tolga Egemen said.
Spain’s Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria acquired of 25 percent of Turkish lender owned by Doğuş Holding earlier last year.
The magazine included nine Turkish banks in its Biggest Emerging Market Banks on Dec. 6 and named local lender Akbank as the best foreign exchange provider in Turkey earlier on Nov. 22.
