Manner is a rock band from Brooklyn, New York, with members Deniz Cuylan, Cem Mısırlıoğlu and Brian Bender. The group was founded in 2010. After being involved in music with Portecho and Norrda, Cuylan decided to create a different group in New York. While working as a producer on Brazzaville's “In Istanbul” album, he met Mısırlıoğlu and Bender and the trio decided to make a studio album. The three friends first started rehearsals in Brooklyn and came up with songs such as "Red Racket," "Wrongside" and "Parallax." They decided to name their group Manner. The group members say Manner means continuing the exciting moments in life.

EXHIBITION
Vahap Avşar’s exhibition at Rampa
Until February 5
Rampa is to host a new exhibition by Vahap Avşar. In his new exhibition, the artist uses different art disciplines such as performance art, photography and collage. Avşar once again chooses to focus on his political identity while creating his artwork.
Avşar is one of the country’s most important artists for his works on Turkish politics and sociological developments.
The artist refers to recent events in Turkey in his works, telling the brief history of the media, consumer society, liberal capitalism and imperialism in Turkey. While depicting the “hate” of the society with a very keen usage of materials, he also uses his own perception on politics. The artist feeds his works with ironic themes and takes the viewers to a new dimension of understanding.
