Students at a private school established by Turkish entrepreneurs in suburban Washington, D.C., have won the first prize in a regional contest on designing the city of the future.
The students from Pinnacle Academy won the regional level of the contest for the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The award was announced at the competition site in Maryland; the students will represent the region at the national competition. Students from the school won the same awards the previous year.

The Pinnacle Academy students created an imaginary future city called "Sana Sarcophilos," an environmentally friendly city established in Tasmania 50 years in the future that could aid cardiac patients and their families.
The design benefits from renewable energy sources like solar and thermal power. In the future city’s hospital, established as an underwater facility, cardiac patients are treated with a water-cooling system, which reduced the cardiac trauma risk to the lowest degree.
