A Russia-based Turkish construction company on Thursday signed a project in Syria worth $180 million.
Renaissance Construction will build a complex named "Taj Halab," including a shopping mall, movie theaters, hotels and a convention center, on 150,000 square meters.
The agreement was signed in Damascus with Syrian partner Cham Holding and its affiliate company Bena Properties.
The complex will be situated only eight kilometers from the Aleppo International Airport, near Aleppo University.
The project is planned to be completed by January 2013.
Renaissance Construction has carried out projects mainly in Libya, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkmenistan. In 2009, the company bought 10.22 percent of the Austria-based Porr Ag, one of the country's largest construction companies.
