Sateksolar, a Turkish company that provides renewable energy solutions, has begun to sell solar golf and utility carts in southern Turkey.
Sateksolar has taken on the Turkey distributorship of solar golf and utility carts produced by Denmark-based Solar Drive, according to a statement from Ayfer Gülüm, board chairwoman of Sateksolar.
The company promoted its golf and utility carts powered by solar energy during the 22nd International Hospitality, Industry Equipment and Decoration Fair in the southern province of Antalya.
“Solar Drive produces and exports more than 30,000 solar golf and utility carts annually,” Gülüm said, speaking during the fair this week.
“Providing water pumping and treatment system solutions, Sateksolar has begun to sell solar panels that can be assembled to power golf and utility carts in Turkey. These environment-friendly panels also allow carts to work in cloudy weather with the solar energy they’ve stored,” Gülüm said.
Solar Drive is the global leader in its sector, according to Eric Andersen, director general in charge of global sales and marketing in Solar Drive. “These panels can be easily assembled for any kind of golf and service carts produced in different places in the world,” he said.
Solar Drive sells solar golf and utility carts to 40 countries, including the United States and Canada. “The price of the carts varies between $2,500 and $2,800. The Turkish market is attractive and has good growth potential. Electricity costs in enterprises are making solar cars attractive,” Andersen said.
Noting that golf tourism has begun to develop throughout Turkey, Gülüm said representatives of some hotels providing golf tourism in the southern towns of Belek, Marmaris and Bodrum have shown interest in solar utility carts. “Hotels, hospitals, municipalities and universities are saving energy by adding solar panels to their short-distance service carts,”
