A Turkish automotive firm is set to manufacture buses for the Middle East and Africa in its factory in Egypt, the company’s director general at a recent ceremony announcing the plan.
Temsa Global, a leading Turkish automotive company, plans to design and manufacture HD-C12 buses for the Middle East and Africa in its factory in Egypt, Ayhan Dayıoğlu, the director general of Temsa Global Egypt Factory, said. “The first Egypt-manufactured HD-C12 will be on market in April, and we aim to raise our market share in Egypt, Africa and Middle East with this model.”
The company has been manufacturing the same buses in Turkey since 2009 and has held a 25-percent share in tourist- and transport-bus production in Egypt.
Temsa Global manufactures and exports coaches and midi-coaches and is the distributor for both Mitsubishi and Komatsu in Turkey. Temsa Global first started production in 1987 in the southern Turkish province of Adana, launching its own Temsa brand in 2001.
In 2008, the firm expanded its production capabilities by building its Egypt and Adapazarı production facilities to manufacture coaches, midi-coaches and light trucks. Temsa's Adana and Egypt plants are capable of collectively producing 4,000 vehicles, specifically 1,500 coaches and 2,500 midi-coaches. The Adapazarı plant is capable of producing 7,500 light trucks.
