Tales of Beyoğlu become a documentary

Tales of Beyoğlu become a documentary

A new documentary titled “Tales of Beyoğlu” depicts stories about Beyoğlu – the natural culture and art center of Istanbul, one of the most exciting and inspiring cities in the world.
While reflecting the liveliness of Beyoğlu, the documentary tells the story of an unforgettable experience and is a feast for all the senses. Nowhere in the world has energy similar to Beyoğlu. The documentary, by producer/director Amanda Burrell, tells about Beyoğlu, its music, art, design fashion, dance and theater, and above all the people who constitute its ever-growing artistic community.
As a window opening onto the creative spirit of Istanbul, the most culturally mobile city in the world, “Tales of Beyoğlu” paints a portrait of the district ornamented by the life stories and work of talented and creative local characters.
“Tales of Beyoğlu,” which is supported by the 2010 European Capital of Culture agency, will be a gift to the spirit and energy of Istanbul as it will bring an original and inspiring view of Beyoğlu and its people, art and culture.
Burrell is a documentary filmmaker with 15 years experience working in broadcast television and on documentaries. She produces, directs, films and presents – all at the same time if necessary.
