Two Turkish projects to go to European Enterprise Awards

Small and Medium Industry Development Organization, or KOSGEB, received more than 29 applications for candidacy in the European Enterprise Awards, out of which, two projects have been selected to be sent to the contest, according to a press release.
One of the two projects is from Düzce University Beekeeping Research, Development and Application Center in the Black Sea province of Düzce and is about increasing entrepreneurial spirit with a program titled “We could do more together.”
The other project is from the Union for Providing Services to Villages, which is based in the Kadışehri district of the eastern province of Yozgat in “responsible entrepreneurs” category titled “Deveci basin integration project.”
The European Enterprise Awards have been organized by DG Enterprise since 2006 to identify and reward excellence among public authorities in promoting entrepreneurship and small business at national, regional and local level. Every year more than 300 initiatives in each of the participating countries (the EU member states and Norway) compete in the national rounds of the competition. A high-level European jury selects the best entries and they are announced at a special ceremony to which all national nominees are invited.
The exchange of good practice and experience triggered by the European Enterprise Awards has fulfilled its primary objectives, which are to identify and recognize successful activities and initiatives undertaken to promote enterprise and entrepreneurship, to showcase and share examples of best entrepreneurship policies and practices, to create a higher awareness of the role entrepreneurs play in society and to encourage and inspire potential entrepreneurs.
